Student welfare

 

Hostel : Limited Hostel facility for boys and girls student is available with College of Forestry.  This accommodates maximum 42 students.  The girls’ students of College of Forestry are accommodated in the common girls hostel for the University.

Placement Cell
As the employment opportunity in Government sector specially in State  Forest Department, Agriculture and Horticulture Department are becoming less. Graduates often seek employments into Non-Government Institutes connected with Forestry and Agriculture field. However quite the good numbers of students have joined in Center and State Government Banking sector, Maharashtra Public Service Commission, State Agriculture Universities respectively.
Many of the private organizations are conducting campus interviews regularly to absorb the best talent of the graduates from this college. Further due to the congenial atmosphere created at the college for entrepreneurship good many numbers of students have projected themselves into successful entrepreneurs to the field of forestry, Agriculture, Horticulture and allied fields.  The Forestry graduates are employed in the Central and State Govt. through competitive examination and in private organization.

Potentialities of Forestry Graduates
The students with a B.Sc. (Forestry) degree are capable of handling any work on tree plantation establishment and management, forest administration and establishing self-sustaining jobs, research activities in forestry and conducting training programme for field level workers All our students are working with a goal of greening India, conserving the forest wealth through latest technologies, stabilizing forest plantations to fulfill the demand of the wood based industries and meeting the needs of the local people through sustained yield management.

Participation of students in sports and co-curricular activities
In spite of less numbers of students, the students of this college have shown sparkle in the field of games and sports. The college team has participated almost in all the events of intercollegiate level and students have represented university in many of the games and sports events. The students are also actively engaged in organizing / celebrate the World Forest Day, Wild life week, Plantation Day etc.
The prestigious events like ‘Inter university’ and ‘Ashwamegh’ are been regularly represented by student of this college.The participation of girls students at Inter-collegiate and inter university is satisfactory. The students of this college are also enrolled of NCC. The students enrolled in NCC unit if the University attend the Annual Training Camps and other activities. The students of this college has won Silver Medal in the 4x100 M relay (Women) in ICAR, Sports meet in year 2007-08.
